AUTOMA KLK-23 is a androgynous bronze bust, which represents the duality of life and death.
In the same way as the Greek theater masks, the joy of life alternates with the sadness of death. It has two doors with a hinge mechanism and it opens to show a heart inside.
Francesca is interested in life and death dichotomy, and while most of her sculptures celebrate life and all its facets, this particular serie is about how death allows us to transform and transcend. Also, sometimes death is hidden behind close doors, but, by opening that doors, we can reveal secrets and discover the truth.
This piece has a black-green and golden patina.
